Cardinals Fans May Want to See This

I have a 2001 Big Innings Rick Ankiel card (#1) up on eBay.  It is not a store item, so it is up for bidding.  You can see it here.  With the Cardinals winning the World Series, I think this card will go fast, as all things Cardinals are.  Happy bidding, and be sure to check out my other items.

Nothing Men: A Tale of Terror

Instead of promoting what I have in my eBay store this time around, I'll take a moment to discuss my new horror novel, Nothing Men

Before you rush out to purchase it, I have to warn you, this is not for the squeamish.  If your idea of horror begins and ends with Scream, then you will most likely end up traumatized by my story.  If, however, you prefer the likes of Jack Ketchum and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then this is right up your sick little alley.  (One reader who read a review copy said, "This feels like one of those movies from the '70s and '80s where you knew everyone was going to die."  That was exactly what I was shooting for.)

Longtime readers who have followed my film and book reviews know I'm a big fan of exploitation, and this is my exploitation novel.  Today's marketplace is not exactly friendly to this type of horror.  There are no cute vampires or witches in the swamp.  It is just pure raw horror.  One family on a vacation gets sidetracked in the mouth of Hell.  A dad, mom and teenage daugther in a place where nobody can be trusted, and nothing is quite what it seems.  When the truth of their situation is finally learned, so comes the realization that there is nothing that can be done about it.

The first publisher I sent it off to called the ending "depressing," and he wanted me to change it before he would consider publishing it.  He liked the story, but the ending got to him.  I let him know it was supposed to get to him.  It wasn't supposed to be pleasant.  To change it would be to alter the entire feel of the story, and I was not about to do that.  What is available now is the story in its purest, most horrific form.

The cover, as some of you may recognize, is from a house in Northern California.  It's been covered on various blogs and whatnot.  I took the picture as I was writing this story.  It seemed perfect.  If you have ever seen the house in person, you know why I chose it.

If this sounds interesting, I implore you to read the novel.  If it sounds a little too much, or you want a sample of my horror writing first, I recommend Melinda (which, despite my intentions, is rather loved by a group of fetishists in Britain) or even the very tame A Dead Friend. The links to all of these can be found to the upper right on this blog, and if you like any of these, please feel free to drop me a line or write a review.  I'd love to hear what you think.

The Inhuman Ordeal of Special Agent Gas Huffer is here for the grabbing in my eBay store.  In great shape for a reasonable price.  Try finding it cheaper.  If you do, grab it!  I welcome the challenge.  While you are in the store, check out my other punk CDs.

For Colorado Rockies and Larry Walker Fans

I've got this beautiful Larry Walker Future Threats card in my eBay store.  Click here to view it.  This is an auction item, and there are only a few days left.  If it does not sell, I will be listing it again.  There are not a lot of Walker items that come up on eBay, so grab them while you have a chance.
